Douglas Alexiou

Douglas Alexiou is a past President of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers which boasts an elected membership of over 400 of the best regarded specialist family lawyers from around the world.

He is recognised as a leader in his field by Legal Experts and Legal 500 Directories and Chambers Directory and has been described in Chambers as "charming and courteous" "a tremendously urbane figurehead for the profession" and a "skilled mediator and collaborative lawyer".

He was born in 1942 and qualified as a solicitor in 1970. He was a partner at Gordon Dadds solicitors for 30 years until breaking away to found AFP in 2001. He is a member of Resolution, is a trained mediator, a trained collaborative lawyer, a member of the International Bar Association and Consultant Editor of Family Law Journal.
