Tom Amlot

Tom joined AFP in June 2011, having previously been head of the family department at media firm Harbottle & Lewis.

Tom is an accredited mediator (having gained his accreditation at the end of 2009) and a collaborative lawyer. He is a co-author of the Law Society's Family Disputes Handbook (published in 2010).

As are all the partners of AFP, Tom is a fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. His international practice has included acting in the leading case on discretionary stays of jurisdiction.

The legal directories have described Tom as a lawyer with "sound judgement, meticulous care and great negotiating skills, whilst having a thoroughly personal approach" (Chambers 2012), and as having "an excellent reputation, always striking a sensible balance for clients" (The Legal 500 2010).
